USA Funds introduce version bilingue de programa de ayuda PDF Imprimir E-Mail
NDIANAPOLIS — USA Funds®, the nation’s leading education loan guarantor, announces the introduction of bilingual components of its popular financial literacy program for college students.

Two modules of the USA Funds Life Skills® curriculum, “Get a Grip on Your Finances — Smart Spending for Students” and “Seek out Financial Aid — Funding Resources and Financial Obligations” now are available in both English and Spanish.

The new materials provide program presenters with a multicultural framework and special teaching strategies to address the unique issues faced by Hispanic students. In addition, the multimedia program features videos that portray Hispanic students addressing their personal finance challenges.

Both modules include the same engaging exercises and useful resources that have prompted more than 500 postsecondary institutions nationwide to adopt the USA Funds Life Skills program for their students.

“We developed these materials with guidance from Hispanic leaders, financial aid and education lending professionals, as well as actual student- and parent-borrowers,” said Denise B. Feser, USA Funds senior vice president, customer relations. “Our aim in providing these bilingual materials is to help this fastest-growing segment of the college-age population overcome financial barriers to higher education.”

USA Funds Life Skills equips postsecondary institutions to teach their students to manage their time and money wisely while they are on campus and following graduation. The program provides students with basic strategies for completing their degree work in a timely manner and minimizing their student loan debt, while preparing them to manage and repay the loans that financed their education.

The two new bilingual modules provide trainer’s manuals and student skills books, in both English and Spanish, as well as a DVD with student videos and presentation slides.

The new USA Funds Life Skills materials are available without charge to postsecondary institutions in conjunction with 2Futuro, a college-financing and outreach program for English- and Spanish-speaking families.

Schools may order the materials from the USA Funds Web site or the 2Futuro Web site.
