About Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF) Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF) was formed in 1997 through a partnership with The Indianapolis Foundation, serving Marion County since 1916, and Legacy Fund, serving Hamilton County since 1991. CICF’s mission is to inspire, support, and practice philanthropy, leadership, and service in our community.
With more than $675 million in assets, CICF ranks within the top 25 largest community foundations in the United States. This success has been accomplished, in large part, thanks to donations from individuals and businesses who are interested in enhancing the quality of life in central Indiana. CICF is committed to working with individuals and families who want to give back to their community. Our Scholarship Program CICF and its donors are committed to helping students pursue and complete higher education degrees. In 2007, CICF awarded over $1.5 million to 134 new scholarship recipients from scholarship funds established by individuals, families, and businesses. Unfortunately, CICF is forced to turn down deserving students each year simply because there is not enough money available to meet the need.
